What Is Embroidery Digitizing? And Why Does Professional Service Matter?
Embroidery digitizing is the process of converting your artwork, a logo, image, or design into a stitch file that an embroidery machine can read. It defines every stitch type, direction, angle, density, and thread colour sequence.
The difference between professional embroidery digitizing and cheap auto-digitizing software is the quality of the final sew-out. Manually digitized files minimise thread breaks, prevent fabric puckering, and produce crisp, clean results across all garment types.
At ThreadGenix, every file is hand-crafted by our in-house US-based digitizers. We handle everything from simple left chest logos to complex portrait embroidery digitizing and specialty techniques like 3D puff.

Why Choose Thread Genix
One of the most crucial aspects that sets us apart as the best embroidery digitizing company is our expertise and experience.
Top Embroidery Digitizing Company in USA
Every design is digitized with precise stitch density, proper underlay, and clean pathing to ensure smooth machine runs, sharp details, and consistent results across all major embroidery machines. Every file is 100% hand-punched, never auto-digitized.
High Quality Digitizing
We ensure the final stitched design accurately reflects the original artwork, with proper stitch density, underlay stitching, pull compensation, and technique choices for different elements ensuring clean results and zero puckering.
Reduced Errors and Re-Work
We anticipate potential issues during digitizing and adjust files accordingly, minimizing revisions and saving you time and money.
Knowledge of Fabrics and Threads
Our expertise extends beyond software. Understanding how fabrics and threads behave allows us to optimize the file for specific materials — caps, dri-fit, fleece, denim, towelling — ensuring professional and durable results.
Before You Start
What to Share Before Starting Your Project
Here’s what we need from you to ensure seamless digitization of your designs.
Step 1
The Correct Size
Always specify the accurate size for your design. You only need to give us one dimension — we’ll proportionately adjust the other to maintain the design’s integrity.
- Average Cap Size: 2" height × proportional width
- Maximum Cap Size: 2.25" × proportional width
- Average Left Chest: 3.5" width × proportional height
- Max Left Chest: 4.5" width × proportional height
Step 2
Color Information
If your design has specific color requirements, please provide the details. We aim to match your desired colors as closely as possible. For example, if you request “1 color, Red,” we’ll digitize the red elements and leave the rest empty for your fabric to show through. Being specific with your color preferences helps us get it right the first time.

What Our Client Says
FAQs
Common Questions About Our Services
Can’t find an answer? Email us at design@threadgenix.com
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes. We offer volume discounts on bulk embroidery digitizing orders and custom patches. Whether you have 10 designs or 500, contact our team for a custom quote — pricing per design drops significantly with larger volumes.
Do you offer same-day digitizing?
Yes! For orders placed between 7am and 1pm MST, we accommodate most same-day embroidery digitizing requests. For next-day turnaround, standard orders submitted by 1pm MST are typically delivered within 6–12 hours.
How will I receive my embroidery file?
Once your embroidery digitizing file is complete, we email all requested formats directly to you — DST, PES, EMB, JEF, HUS, VP3, XXX, and more — in a single delivery.
What changes are free after my file is delivered?
Any revision to improve the sew quality of your embroidery file is free — adjusting outlines, registration, stitch density, or underlay. Changes that alter the original artwork design may incur an additional fee.
What is your embroidery digitizing turnaround time?
Our standard embroidery digitizing turnaround time is 6–12 hours for most orders. Complex artwork — including jacket back digitizing, portrait digitizing, and multi-colour designs — may take up to one business day.
What embroidery file formats do you deliver?
We provide all major embroidery file formats, including Tajima DST, Wilcom EMB, Brother PES, Janome JEF, Husqvarna HUS, Singer XXX, Melco EXP, PFAFF VP3, and more. Simply let us know your machine brand and we will send the correct format.
How does your embroidery digitizing price compare to cheaper services?
Our embroidery digitizing starts at just $15 per design — competitively priced for a US-based, fully manual service. Cheap services that rely on auto-digitizing software often require extensive corrections. At ThreadGenix, we do it right the first time.
